Is SSC CPO better than SSC CGL? What is the salary of CPO in CGL?

SSC CPO vs SSC CGL, Which is tougher? :

If we talk about the number of posts here, you'll always see a very high number of posts in the CGL. For example, how many are there this time? There are over 14,500 posts. If we talk about last year, there were over 17,000 posts. In 2022, we saw the maximum number of posts. So, the highest number of posts is advertised under the CGL. Now, you'll find CGL posts in various government departments and ministries. Or in constitutional bodies. Or in state bodies, you'll find these posts in state bodies, which are created by the government. If you're selected, you'll be recruited here. Meanwhile, if we're talking about CPO, the number of positions offered here is very low compared to CGL. Most of the positions you'll see here are SI positions. If you want to become an SI in Delhi, you'll need to take this exam. Your BSF posts will also be through this process. Furthermore, your CRPF posts will also be covered. For this type of post, you take the CPO exam. Now, let's discuss the level of the exam. Many candidates believe, and it's also been observed, that when you prepare for the CGL exam, you spend a lot of time preparing, but you're unable to clear the exam. Sometimes you miss it by one or two marks. But when you take the CPO exam, you crack it in one go. What's the reason behind this? I'll explain this too. The reason behind this is the selection process. When we talk about the SSC CGL, the exam is conducted in Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1, as you all know, is qualifying in nature. There, you'll be given a merit-based cut-off. No matter how many marks you score, if they exceed the cut-off, you will be selected. Merit is determined by Paper 2. But if we talk about CPO, what happens in CPO? Your merit is determined by both papers: the descriptive paper and your English paper, which is not descriptive. MCQs are available. But merit is determined from Paper One and Paper Two. Selection is based on that. But the most common difference between CGL and CPO is that if you are physically fit and active, the best position for you is within CPO. But if you want a steady job and need a balance, which position is right for you? It would be a CGL position. When we talk about CGL positions, the pay level is also high.

Different positions are advertised at four, five, six, or seven pay levels, within different departments and ministries. However, if we talk about CPO positions, everyone's level is the same. Everyone will be recruited to the position of SI. Is this clear, everyone? So let's start our session today, which will revolve around this. And yes, my suggestion would be this. Look, if we talk about educational qualifications, then a graduation is required in both. So, my suggestion to my students, my candidates, and anyone watching this session is that if you're preparing for the SSC, take every exam conducted by the SSC or for which you're eligible. Yes, the age criteria are for S, and the educational qualification criteria are for S. If you've graduated, fill out the Selection Post exam as well. Fill out the SSC CGL exam as well as the CPO exam. If you've completed your 12th, fill out the Selection Post exam as well as the CHSL exam. So, my suggestion is to fill out forms for all the exams conducted by the SSC. Because you want a job. Your primary goal right now is to get a good government job. Let's start today's session by discussing who conducts both exams. The SSC conducts them. We know this. And again, the CGL is your Combined Graduate Level, within which the posts are in Groups B and C.

We've already seen this. Furthermore, the posts that are available within the CPO are all Inspectors. Delhi Police, BSF, CRPF, Reserve Forces, CISF, SSB, ITBP. So, for the post of Sub-Inspector, you can take the CPO exam. We'll continue. We've already discussed the number of posts. If we talk about eligibility, graduation is required for both. Graduation must be complete, but the age limit will vary. For CPO, the age criteria are 20 to 25, while for CGL, it varies post-wise.

ssc cgl vs. CPO eligibility:

Age criteria will vary depending on the post you're applying for. But the question, ma'am, is there any age relaxation? Yes, you are given age relaxation based on government rules. Age relaxation will be given according to government rules and regulations. Next, we'll discuss the selection process. Within CGL, there are Tier 1 and Tier 2. The Tier 1 paper is in an MCQ format, which everyone has to take. Let's talk about Tier 2. The paper here is divided into two sections: Section 1 and Section 2. Section 1 is required for everyone. It contains three papers. Section 2 is only for statistics students. And your Tier 1 exam is qualifying. You have to qualify. In CPO, Paper 1 asks MCQs. Right? And besides, Paper 2 is solely English. Only English. And what do you achieve with these two? Selection is based on merit. And again, there's a physical test. So, those kids who are okay? They clear the paper. They just have to work a little harder on the physical exam. So, if you're physically active and have gotten into the hustle and bustle, this is the CPO exam for you. And then a medical examination is conducted at the end. We'll move on. So, again, are physical and medical requirements required for CGL? No, because it's mostly a desk job. You'll see some field work here. Okay? So, today you'll see that the SIs in Delhi police stations are from these positions. Next, if you need a uniform, ma'am, you need a uniform. Right? If you need a uniform, like a police inspector's uniform, you can apply for CPO. We'll move on. Next, there are some positions you'll find in CGL as well. We've already talked about the nature of work. Here, you get a desktop job.

There's office work. For example, there are income tax officers, inspectors, audit officers, and customs officers. Within the CPO, you get a law enforcement job. You have to enforce the law. You have a responsibility here. Clear? We'll continue. Next, let's talk about salary and perks. So, within the CPO, you'll see the pay for Level 6. And within CGL, you know that different posts are decided at different pay levels. The highest is Level 7, which includes ASOs and AEOs. We'll continue. So, let's discuss the most important one: are the application forms out? Yes, the SSC CGL application form is out. You can fill out your application form by visiting the SSC website and doing an OTR. When did it start? It started on June 9th. How long will it last? It's scheduled to run until July 4th. How many posts are there this time? There are over 14,500 posts, and it's tentative. This means they may increase in the future. We'll talk about CPO. Its notification has come out, but it hasn't come out yet. It was announced on June 16th, and the SSC is diligently following the calendar this time. So, your notification will come on June 16th. So how many posts will come again? You'll get at least 2 to 3000 posts here. You'll see 2 to 3000 posts here. All right, everyone. So I hope you understand this. You all know the endpaper pattern. And beyond that, we'll move on. Next, let's see. Now what do you want to do? So, if you see a difference,I understand. Now you have to decide, and my suggestion is to fill out the application form for all the exams conducted by the SSC. The fee isn't very high. It's ₹100, and there's a discount for females. There's a discount for SCs and STs. So, fill out all the forms and secure a seat this year.
