Bhartiya Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, which is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, is also considered one of the best IP colleges. The entry gate is covered with greenery and looks quite shiny and welcoming. Once you enter the campus, the atmosphere inside is pleasant, clean, organized, and peaceful. There are many places nearby for hanging out and roaming, so we will discuss connectivity now. If you’re from Delhi, you won’t have any transportation issues. If you check rankings through popular college review apps, you’ll find that BVCOE is ranked among the top for engineering in IPU, especially with an overall polytechnic rating of 8.
GGSIP University made a big change in the admission process, and instead of the old CET entrance exam, now most colleges under IPU, including Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, take admissions through JEE Main.
Yes, you heard it right, now you need a valid JEE score to get in
Students will be admitted on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the JEE MAINS, and the counseling session will be conducted by GGSIPU, Delhi. For more details,
visit: www.ipu.ac.in
Out of the total number of seats, the 90% seats will be filled in by the Centralized Counselling to be conducted by GGSIP University.
10% seats are reserved for the Management Category. Admission to these 10% Reserved Management Category Seats will be done by the Management on merit as per the Instructions of the Govt. of NCT, Delhi and GGSIP University.
Along with the JEE route, the college also offers management quota seats. So, if you are someone who does not get the desired rank or wants to secure admission without waiting for multiple rounds of counseling, then the management quota can be a decent backup option
The process for the management quota is quite simple and straightforward. You visit the college, pay the required registration amount, submit your documents, and if you meet the basic eligibility criteria, your seat gets confirmed
Now, talking about eligibility, it's very basic. You need to have at least 20 percent aggregate marks in your qualifying exam,m and you should have passed in English. That’s it. If you meet these two things, you are eligible to apply
The college offers BTech programs in multiple branches, and the best part is that most of these branches are available in both morning and evening shifts, which gives you flexibility while choosing.
Here are the branches you can apply for
Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
So, you have a decent variety in terms of engineering options. Now, let me break down the seat availability for you. CSE has 126 seats and is the most in demand. ECE has 125 seats, but these are for the second shift
IT has 120 seats when you combine both morning and evening shifts. ICE or Instrumentation and Control has 6 seats only, so pretty limited. EEE has 60 seats. Now, a lot of students ask me which branch they should go for, and honestly, if you are focused on placements and want to build a career in tech or software, then I would say go for CSE. That branch gets the best companies during placement season and also has better exposure and more learning opportunities compared to others.
Also, a small tip here, most students prefer the morning shift, so if you get that during counseling,g go for it because the morning shift generally has slightly better faculty and reputation
Let us now talk about the cutoff :
Since admission is through JEE now the cutoffs are released based on JEE Main rank and it differs from branch to branch and shift to shift So last year for CSE, the cutoff was somewhere between 3000 to 5000 ranks depending on the shift The highest cutoff for a shift went up to 2500 rank which means if you scored well in JEE you have a strong chance to get your preferred branch and shift On the other hand branches like ICE and EEE are easier to get into so even with a lower rank you can still get a seat. But remember, placement in those branches is not as strong, so if you are targeting a good job after graduation, try to aim for CSE or IT. Also note that shift 1 always has a higher cutoff than shift 2 because students generally prefer that for a better routine and reputation.
Alright, now coming to the part that everyone waits for – placement :
So placements here are a bit mixed, but CSE and IT have the upper hand. If we talk about the 2016 data, the college saw around 133 companies visiting the campus. Out of that,t around 22 percent of students got placed.
That may sound low but keep in mind this includes all branches even the ones that are not in demand Now if we move to 2017 data, the placement rate improved to around 72.70 percent which is decent for a private college under IPU Top companies that hired students includeTCS which took the most number of students Amazon which selected 6 students Airtel Payment Bank Accenture and many others The highest package offered till now is ₹9.3 LPA and that too by the Indian Air Force under a special recruitment drive This shows that opportunities are there if you are skilled and proactive Also one more thing the data mentioned here is for the general category students and taken from the official website so it is reliable CSE and IT branches always get the most offers so once again if your goal is good placement these are the branches to aim for
Now, about the hostel facilities and campus life :
The college has a girls' hostel inside the campus, which is decent and safe. But unfortunately, there is no hostel for boys, so male students usually stay in nearby PGs or shared flats. The good thing is that the area has plenty of options and is well connected by metro and buses, so commuting is not a problem. The college provides Wi Fi across the campus,s and the classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with smart boards. In terms of sports facilities, you get Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, and an Athletics track.
There is also an annual sports meet which is well organized and has decent participation from all branches So if you are into sports and extra activities you will find options here Talking about cultural life the college organizes a big cultural fest called HTC which stands for Horizon The Cultural This fest is one of the main highlights of the year and includes events like dance music fashion drama tech shows and more If you enjoy performing or participating in college events this is a good space to network showcase your talent and have fun So finally let’s talk about money. The college issued an official notice that clearly explained the fee structure.
