Maharaja Ganga Singh University (MGSU), Bikaner, was established in 2003 under the University of Bikaner Act, 2003, as a public state university located in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The university was originally named the University of Bikaner before being renamed after Maharaja Ganga Singh, a distinguished ruler of Bikaner known for his significant contributions to the development of the region. The university's headquarters are in Bikaner and it covers the jurisdiction of the Bikaner division including Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu districts. MGSU offers a variety of programs including UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and doctoral courses in faculties like science, commerce, management, arts, social sciences, law, and education. The university is governed by the Governor of Rajasthan as Chancellor and appoints a Vice Chancellor on the advice of the State Government. The university campus spans around 1100 acres, equipped with modern facilities and attracts students from multiple states
