About 

Banasthali Vidyapith University is a full-fledged residential women's university which is founded by Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri, in the year of 1935 on October 6, the Institution began as a mission to fulfill their late daughter's dream, Shantabai, who passed away at the age of 12, and she envisioned working for women's upliftment. The institution has just started with a handful of girls and was named ‘Shri Shantabai Shiksha Kutir’.The Institution got the name ‘Banasthali Vidyapith’ in 1943 and was granted recognition as a deemed university in 1983 by the University Grants Commission (UGC).The campus of Banasthali Vidyapith was founded in Tonk, district Rajasthan 304022.
